Little Writer - The Tracing App for Kids App Reviews

Love this app, but Ive noticed it has been years since its been updated. So now there are issues, especially since the last iPad update. It crashes on me all the time now, some of the things that Ive turned off are actually on. I use this in class all the time to help my students how to write letters. Please update soon.

We have a 4 year old who is in a school that really stresses early writing. While shes ahead in many areas, she struggles with her writing and pencil grip. Developmentally, shes fine, but as one of the youngest kids in her class, shes a little behind her class peers in this skill. We have been working with her, but she would be frustrated by our constant little corrections like "the A needs a diagonal, not a straight line". But this app is great because it does those little corrections automatically. And we gave her a stylus to use, so shes figuring out a proper grip gives her better control. All in all, we are very happy. Our daughter loves it, as do we. We are going to start letting her 2 year old brother use it on the iPad so the letters are very large while our daughter uses it on the iPhone so the letters are smaller and require better control.

Since the latest IOS update the feature that lets you customize the letters is not working. Please help!

I absolutely love this app for therapy. It is a great app to use on my kindergarten students in between their speech turns.

This app is really wonderful for a free app. Thank you. The only possible addition I can think of is to add some visual reinforcement in addition to the audio. Possibly stickers or something? Otherwise it really is perfect!

I just downloaded this app and started to play it myself. I am a grandma of 5 grandsons who all love trucks and animals...so when I saw the trucks and animals being used to help guide their little fingers to draw the letters and shapes and numbers, I thought, oh my, are we going to have fun! I so wish tools like this was available for my kids when they were growing up. I home schooled all my kids and spent many years in third world...and spent many hours either hunting for school material or creating by hand. What lovely, and inventive tools these alligator apps offer! Wish I could time travel back and have them for my kids. Wed have a ball! Thanks for all the time you spent putting these great wholesome tools together! You are making me a happy nana, every time I get another one of your apps!

Good App for coordination. Unfortunately some of the letters stick together and it is hard for my 5 yr old to read. She does enjoy it and it definitely keeps her learning. I would have liked to see the letters and numbers appear in the most basic font. For example the number 1 and the lowercase l confuses her. Overall it is fun and keeps her thinking!

This is a good free app! I wish I were able to customize the order the letters are presented in.

I love this app, not only does it allow me have children learn how to form their letters but also allows for the customization of words. A great tool for students to practice writing their classmates names.

My daughter loves this app, she is very excited to play it and make the shapes and letters. Its a great app for the summer between kindergarten and grade one

Keeps my kids focused on the proper way to write. They cant just scribble like some of the other apps. Also corrects them as the write and gives them confirmation after completion. Use it with my 5 and 3 year old, and they choose to play it on their own
